Job Description This role is a hands‑on builder and enabler for ASG’s portfolio companies. The AI‑Native Software Engineer will directly lead and contribute to software development projects across the full stack, using AI‑native and agentic coding techniques to accelerate delivery of production‑quality solutions. In parallel, this person will help train and upskill OpCo engineering teams through practical coaching, workshops, and real‑world examples that drive adoption of AI‑native development practices.
What You Will Do
Lead high‑impact build projects across ASG portfolio companies, partnering directly with operating companies to design, develop, and deliver software that opens new opportunities for the business.
Work hands‑on across the full stack, using AI‑native development practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for production‑quality code, architecture, and reliability.
Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor to engineering teams across the portfolio, influencing without direct authority and helping teams adopt more effective ways of working.
Train and mentor engineers at operating companies on AI‑native software development, sharing practical methods, workflows, and tooling that improve productivity and code quality.
Design and host workshops, enablement sessions, and working labs to drive adoption of agentic coding practices across the portfolio.
Help establish repeatable patterns, playbooks, and best practices that can scale across multiple companies, teams, and software environments.
Collaborate closely with portfolio leadership, product stakeholders, and engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI‑native development can meaningfully accelerate execution and create value.
Who You Are
7+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and shipping production‑quality applications in senior or lead roles
Strong software engineering fundamentals with a track record of building and shipping production‑quality software
Ability to work across the full stack, including infrastructure, backend, web, mobile, and databases
Experience using best‑in‑class AI and agentic coding tools to accelerate software development
Familiarity with tools that improve the SDLC, including AI code review, static analysis, testing, CI/CD, and observability
Curiosity and discipline to stay current with the latest advancements in AI tools and agentic coding workflows
Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to train and enable broad technical audiences
Experience across multiple programming languages, frameworks, and tech stacks, with the ability to quickly learn new ones
Sound judgment in code quality, architecture, security, performance, and maintainability
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments and turning ideas into practical solutions
Comfortable switching contexts quickly and operating effectively across multiple companies, teams, and priorities
Base Salary Range Base Salary Range:
The target salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000 and is part of a competitive total rewards package including an annual bonus, employer‑paid benefits, L&D stipend and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
