Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support our US-based Finance & Accounting organization. This India-based role is responsible for driving month-end close, managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and India GAAP, and overseeing a team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, solution‑driven, and excels at identifying process gaps and implementing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Accounting Operations
Oversee and manage the complete Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles, ensuring accurate invoice processing, efficient customer billing, and collections efforts.
Support full month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L analyses and ensure GL accuracy.
Maintain books in accordance with US GAAP and India GAAP.
Compliance: Tax, Audit & Regulatory
Support tax compliance, timely filings, documentation, and responses to tax authorities.
Coordinate audits and statutory reporting; prepare supporting schedules.
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls.
Process Improvement & Controls
Identify workflow and process gaps; implement efficiency enhancements.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and control procedures.
Review systems and processes for effectiveness and compliance.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and mentor accounting staff in India.
Collaborate with cross-functional US teams including Tax, FP&A, Payroll.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist senior leadership with non-routine transactions.
Support creation and review of financial statements for audit and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
9+ years accounting experience with US GAAP and India GAAP exposure.
Experience in month-end close, reconciliations, audit, and tax compliance.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Strong understanding of data accuracy, reconciliation logic, and error‑proofing techniques in spreadsheets.
Preferred:
Experience in multinational or US based companies.
ERP experience (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Tally etc.)
Ability to automate recurring tasks using macros etc.
