Innovate! Inc. is seeking a driven individual who is passionate about leveraging technology to tackle environmental challenges and drive positive change. We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to support enterprise-level geospatial systems and infrastructure within a federal environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, scripting and automation, and high-availability system design—all within virtualized or cloud-hosted environments. This role is critical to the maintenance, administration, and performance optimization of GIS platforms, databases, and web applications. Location:

Perform daily monitoring of servers, databases, and system resources to ensure integrity, availability, and optimal performance. Review system and application logs; verify scheduled jobs and scripts. Provide incident triage, troubleshooting, and resolution in line with severity-based SLAs. Administer, test, and maintain enterprise databases and web-based applications. Apply patches, upgrades, and hotfixes to databases, servers, and applications. Conduct database backups, tuning, and performance optimization. Implement and maintain security controls to safeguard systems and databases in alignment with federal security frameworks. Track and remediate vulnerabilities; maintain compliance documentation for required certifications and authorizations. Support audits and prepare compliance reports. Manage change control processes with testing, rollback, and audit documentation. Maintain version control of system code, configurations, and deployments. Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and continuity of operations (COOP) plans. Ensure recovery point and recovery time objectives are met and participate in DR exercises. Maintain up-to-date system architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational runbooks. Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to staff. Track software licenses, server inventory, and database components under management. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or Database Administrator in enterprise IT environments. Hands-on experience with:
Microsoft SQL Server (2019 or later) Web server administration (e.g., IIS on Windows Server) Enterprise GIS environments (preferred) Application platforms such as ColdFusion or similar technologies
Familiarity with monitoring tools and system performance tracking. Knowledge of ITIL or equivalent best practices in change and release management. Strong understanding of federal IT security requirements and compliance frameworks. Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance. Innovate!
