About Us Kamel Ride is a long‑distance carpooling platform built for college students and communities. We’re growing quickly, and we’re looking for an experienced engineer who can provide technical oversight and help guide the product forward.
Role Overview We’re seeking a part‑time Technical Advisor / Lead Engineer who can support our small engineering team by reviewing code, ensuring production stability, and advising developers. This is a lightweight but high‑impact role ideal for someone who enjoys coaching junior developers and shaping early‑stage product decisions.
What You’ll Do
Review and merge code from developers
Oversee deployments and push updates to production
Manage server infrastructure and ensure uptime
Provide technical direction on architecture and product decisions
Maintain code quality, reliability, and best practices
Offer mentorship and guidance to junior developers
Communicate clearly and proactively with the founder
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience with modern web/mobile development (React, React Native, Node.js)
Comfortable managing production environments and deployment pipelines
Ability to mentor junior developers and explain concepts clearly
Strong communication skills and reliability
Someone who can make high‑leverage decisions in limited weekly hours
Prior experience with early‑stage startups or student teams is a plus
