We are seeking an experienced Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality at customer installation sites, drive continuous improvement in our products and systems, and influence cross‑functional partners across the organization. What You’ll Do
Provide quality leadership at customer installation sites, focusing on timely issue identification and resolution using structured quality methods. Oversee up to three Symbotic installation sites concurrently, training and supervising local QC resources to ensure inspections and surveillance are completed on schedule. Surveil installation partners to confirm compliance with critical quality parameters. Plan, execute, and manage quality activities with suppliers and customer sites, setting high standards that prevent quality issues. Demonstrate the use of S CNs and RFIs to facilitate timely completion of assigned scope and resolve questions efficiently. Apply 8‑D corrective action to deliver effective root‑cause analysis and prevent recurrence. Communicate issues across operations teams and drive closed‑loop problem resolution. Support manufacturing and QA in defect disposition and new material or process qualification to meet reliability requirements. Utilize Six Sigma and Lean methods to drive quality and process improvements. Mentor and coach site quality personnel to execute quality SOPs and resolve issues. Travel is required; up to 75% of time on construction sites with required PPE. What You’ll Need
B.S. in Engineering (M.S. preferred). Minimum 15 years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing industry. Proficiency in quality concepts, tools, and methods (FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, 8D, etc.). Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate findings into business actions. Hands‑on project management and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability to meet aggressive timelines. Experience in control plans, FMEA, PPAP or equivalent parts approval processes. Experience using statistical process control software (SAA, Minitab, JMP, MATLAB) and advanced Excel. Understanding of reliability methods and failure‑mode analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA). Strong communication, negotiation, and cross‑functional relationship building skills. Experience in procurement and supplier relationship management is a plus. Certified or previously certified ISO 9001/AS9100 auditor preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt or higher preferred. Benefits & Work Environment
