A well-established construction business is seeking to appoint an Accountant to a newly created role based in Sligo. This position has been introduced to strengthen the finance function, reduce the financial workload on non-finance teams, and provide timely, accurate financial information to support senior management and Board decision-making. This is a hands-on role offering strong visibility and the opportunity to shape and improve finance processes. Duties Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records Prepare management accounts and financial reports for senior management and Board meetings Coordinate and support the year-end audit process Improve internal controls and streamline finance processes Provide financial insights to support operational and project teams Work closely with non-finance stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy Candidate Profile Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Qualified by Experience Experience in construction or a project-based environment is an advantage Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail Comfortable in a standalone or newly created role Strong communication skills, particularly with non-finance colleagues Proactive, organised, and process-focused Why Apply Newly created role with scope to influence and develop the finance function High-visibility position working closely with senior management Permanent role based in Sligo with long-term career progression At Wallace Myers International Recruitment Agency we specialise in sourcing professionals for key industries and services.
