*3-month contract to hire* Job Summary The Network Engineer Level 2 will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. The engineer will collaborate with IT teams to ensure network reliability, implement upgrades, and provide technical support for escalated issues. Essential Job Functions Maintain computer networks including routers, switches, VPNs and other physical hardware/software Monitor systems to improve network performance for all systems Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and management Research, install, configure and upgrade network hardware and software Create firewall rules and update software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected Implement disaster recovery procedures Provide on-site support for projects that require on-site installation and support Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases Minimum Required Qualifications 2-4 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, technical support, or similar roles, with demonstrable expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Comprehensive understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, routing, switching, and network security. Experience with enterprise-grade networking hardware and software, such as Cisco, Juniper, HP, or similar platforms, including configuration, maintenance, and firmware updates. Proven ability to use network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios) for performance analysis, fault detection, and incident resolution. Relevant certifications strongly preferred, such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent industry credentials.
