- This position leads the Airworthiness Regulatory Compliance function within the Safety organization. The team is responsible for managing complex regulatory investigations, including Voluntary Self Disclosures (VSDs), FAA correspondence, and airworthiness-related events.
- Ensuring compliance with FAA and applicable federal regulations governing aircraft airworthiness
- Driving system-wide corrective actions that enhance safety and operational reliability
- Partnering across Technical Operations, Flight Operations, and other operational groups to strengthen compliance performance

- Lead a team of regulatory compliance specialists that manage the end-to-end investigation process for regulatory correspondences and Voluntary Self Disclosures (VSDs) to identify contributing factors and drive innovative, system-wide solutions
- Ensure all investigations identify root causes, contributing factors, and systemic risks impacting aircraft airworthiness and operational compliance
- Oversee the development and submission of formal regulatory responses to agencies such as the FAA, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and regulatory standards
- Work with CASS to analyze operational and compliance data to detect trends, validate non-compliance, and identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action
- Drive implementation of system-wide corrective actions and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure sustained compliance
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities (FAA, DOT, TSA, EPA) for airworthiness-related compliance matters
- Partner cross-functionally with Technical Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Flight Operations to ensure alignment on compliance expectations and corrective solutions
- Deliver executive-level briefings on investigation outcomes, risk exposure, and compliance trends
- Promote a strong safety and compliance culture through collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation experience with exposure to airworthiness, maintenance, or regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting or managing regulatory investigations and agency correspondence
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- Advanced degree in aviation, safety, engineering, or related field
- Familiar with 14 CFR (Parts 91, 121, 145, etc.) and airworthiness regulations
- Experience with FAA regulatory processes, including VSD programs and enforcement actions
- Experience working in unionized environments (IAM/TWU)
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
