Are you the kind of person who can juggle a content calendar, three creator relationships, and a revision cycle without anything going stale or sideways?
Do you get a genuine kick out of taking a video from script to published — thumbnails, metadata, chapters, and all?
Are you equally comfortable reviewing a log line for a talking head video and rewriting a YouTube title to match what people actually search for?
Foundation’s YouTube offering is live and growing. We help B2B brands create video content that gets cited by LLMs (Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode) for their most valuable queries. The strategy is built, the production partner is proven, the pricing is set, and clients are signing.
You’ll be the glue between our strategy team (who decides what to create), our production partners (who film and edit), and our clients (who approve and publish). If a video is late, misaligned, or sitting in a review queue too long — that’s on you to catch and fix.
This Role Is For Someone Who
Takes a production timeline and runs it without being managed; you chase deadlines, you don’t wait for someone to miss them
2+ years managing video production workflows end-to-end, ideally across multiple clients or projects simultaneously
Functional experience with YouTube Studio: publishing, metadata, playlist management, analytics, and channel optimization
Experience coordinating across external production partners, freelance creators, or contractors with competing timelines
Proven ability to build and maintain production tracking systems that give stakeholders instant visibility into project status
Comfortable giving clear, specific creative feedback that moves work forward rather than creating confusion
Familiarity with SEO principles as they apply to YouTube; experience with or willingness to learn how video content gets surfaced by AI platforms
Ability to manage competing priorities without losing track of details; you default to systems over memory
Is relentlessly organized; you’re tracking scripts, thumbnails, revision rounds, and publish dates across multiple clients simultaneously and nothing slips
Has a feel for video quality; you can tell when a thumbnail won’t get clicked, when a title is too vague, and when a script needs to be tighter
Communicates directly and proactively; creators, strategists, and AMs get updates without asking
Is comfortable working across tools (YouTube Studio, project management platforms, Google Workspace, Slack) and learning new ones quickly
Has experience with YouTube or video production workflows; you understand the pipeline from script to publish and know where things typically break down
Already using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in your daily workflow; we're not looking for someone who needs to be convinced that AI is useful, we need someone who's already using it to move faster on things like script drafts, metadata optimization, research, and workflow management
What You’ll Be Responsible For Production Management (~50% of your time)
Own the end-to-end production workflow for all YouTube clients: brief handoff from strategy, creator coordination, script review, revision tracking, and final approval
Manage the relationship with our production partners day-to-day: timelines, deliverable tracking, feedback loops, and revision coordination
Manage and grow the creator bench; coordinate external creators, track capacity, and onboard new creators as client volume scales
Coordinate with the Shorts/Clips Editor on repurposing long-form videos into Shorts and social cuts
YouTube Optimization & Publishing (~30% of your time)
Execute the optimization track on client channels: rewrite titles and descriptions for search and LLM citation, redesign thumbnails, restructure playlists, etc
Manage YouTube Studio across client channels: publishing, playlist management, metadata, end screens, and analytics tracking
Track and report on YouTube performance and LLM citation metrics per client; flag what’s working and what isn’t
Coordination & Planning (~20% of your time)
Attend AEO/GEO strategy planning calls to receive topic handoffs and ask the right questions before production starts; you’re upstream of problems, not reacting to them
Keep AMs and strategists updated on production status; proactively flag delays, capacity issues, or client approval bottlenecks
Maintain content calendars and production trackers; the Creative Director should be able to check the status of any YouTube client in under 60 seconds
This split will flex. Some weeks you’ll be 80% production management because multiple clients are in revision cycles. Other weeks you’ll be deep in optimization because a new client just onboarded and their channel needs a full retrofit. You should be comfortable with both.
