This role needs to be present onsite at our warehouse location in Phoenix, Arizona.
Job Purpose Summary: Shift Team Leads are the front-line support for employees and site supervisors. As an expert in operational procedures and standards, the site team lead supports any inbound, outbound, inventory, and quality efforts and activity in the warehouse. Team leads are expected to be exemplary workers and be available to assist the team whenever possible or necessary. The ability to indirectly lead and motivate team members is key to success as a shift team lead.
Reporting Accountability: Shift Supervisor
Working Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Hours Classification: Full Time, Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily production, shift, and departmental tasks to meet goals, as defined by the site supervisor and manager
- Provide indirect supervision of employees and support supervisor in team member initiatives
- Maintain the quality station in the facility.
- Evaluate needs of the team and communicate openly with the supervisor and manager
- Assist employees in all training efforts and handling overflow work
- Assist the quality station and document errors when needed
- Meet quality standards as set by leadership, assisting with inventory movement, reporting, and management as needed
- Assist in auditing bulk orders
- Handle all email communication that comes to the warehouse requests distro list
- Communicate daily stats to the team
- Be available to come in early and stay late as needed to provide adequate support to the business
- Maintain a clean and safety work environment to prevent accidents and injuries
- Maintain compliance, safety, and quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures
- Assist with safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and complete all necessary documentation
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with all other warehouse staff
- Set a positive example through personal attendance and time management
- Be willing to adapt to change to support business objectives
- Work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve business goals and growth opportunities
- Maintain a clear and organized work environment by ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards by regularly cleaning and organizing tools, equipment, and materials.

Key Qualifications:
- Ability to consistently communicate with other VGMF and VGM Group personnel in person and via Microsoft Office 365 products
- Continuously uphold and follow VGM policies and procedures
- Ability to develop, influence, and coach indirect reports
- Ability to multitask and prioritize key warehouse initiatives
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to be cross trained in other areas of the warehouse
- Thorough knowledge of D365 and various other programs used by the team
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work overtime
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility 75% of the workday
- Ability to lift 5lbs. Or less for extended periods of time
- Ability to react quickly and move quickly to various locations throughout the building as needed by the operation
- Strict adherence to all physical safety standards
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
