QA/QC Manager (Quality Control Manager – Data Center Construction)
Location: Columbus, OH (Primary) – Regular travel to Sterling, VA and other active project regions Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt JSET Automated Technologies is a specialty controls and automation contractor supporting mission-critical and industrial facilities, including data centers and critical infrastructure projects. Our work includes Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), controls installation, and commissioning support. Projects are highly technical, schedule-driven, and tightly integrated with construction and commissioning phases. As our footprint grows, we are building a dedicated Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) program to improve execution consistency, reduce rework, and ensure predictable project delivery across all regions. Role Overview
The QA/QC Manager (Quality Control Manager) is a senior leadership role responsible for building, implementing, and scaling JSET's QA/QC program across data center and mission-critical construction projects. This position is based in Columbus, OH and supports projects across multiple regions, with regular travel to Sterling, VA and other active job sites. This role defines how quality is established, measured, and enforced across the organization. It focuses on developing standards, driving adoption in the field, and ensuring work is validated before testing, commissioning, and turnover. This is an ideal opportunity for a QA/QC leader with experience building programs, leading teams, and improving construction quality outcomes in electrical, controls, or data center environments. Role Clarity (Critical to Success)
This role is responsible for verifying and enforcing quality standards across project execution. Defines QA/QC inspection points and expectations Confirms installation readiness prior to testing and turnover Requires corrective action when work does not meet standards This role does not manage project schedules or directly supervise installation crews. Build and own the company-wide QA/QC program Drive consistent quality control execution across multiple projects Lead QA/QC team development and field adoption Improve project outcomes by reducing rework and late-stage issues Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Standardization
Develop and implement a comprehensive QA/QC program for BMS/EPMS installation projects Create and standardize inspection procedures, quality checklists, and documentation workflows Define quality benchmarks and acceptance criteria aligned with project specifications and industry standards Establish document control standards, naming conventions, and version control practices Project Oversight & Execution
Oversee QA/QC implementation across multiple concurrent construction projects Ensure inspections and testing are completed for controls systems, electrical scope, panels, and wiring Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and field teams to enforce quality requirements Track non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and quality issue resolution Apply QA/QC coverage based on project risk, system criticality, and client expectations Team Leadership & Development
Build, mentor, and manage QA/QC personnel including field inspectors and regional support Define performance expectations and accountability standards Train field and project teams on QA/QC processes, timing, and documentation requirements Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement Systems, Documentation & Reporting (Procore)
Lead QA/QC workflow setup and standardization within Procore Ensure all QA/QC documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready Standardize documentation practices across projects Develop reporting on QA/QC performance metrics and trends Compliance, Auditing & Continuous Improvement
Conduct site audits and inspections to verify compliance with QA/QC standards Support client audits and quality reviews Analyze trends such as rework, missed inspections, and punch list volume Implement continuous improvements to strengthen quality execution and consistency Growth & Success Indicators
Clear and consistent QA/QC standards across all projects Measurable reduction in rework and late-stage defects Improved readiness for commissioning and project turnover Increased field accountability and alignment around quality expectations Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in QA/QC, construction, electrical, controls, or mission-critical environments Proven experience building and managing QA/QC programs or systems Strong knowledge of electrical systems, BMS, EPMS, or controls installations Experience managing quality across multiple concurrent projects or regions Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and leadership Proficiency in Procore or similar construction management platforms Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals Preferred Qualifications
Data center or mission-critical project experience QA/QC certifications (CQE, CQM, or equivalent) Experience supporting commissioning readiness and turnover processes Why JSET
