Job Description LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Survey Engineer to support FAA FMDS work across the US and its territories. The Senior Survey Engineer will provide expert engineering support in the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
This role requires broad knowledge of engineering procedures and the ability to apply state-of-the-art technology to meet mission requirements in support of FAA objectives. This position requires frequent travel to FAA field facilities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to)
Provide senior-level engineering expertise in support of FAA FMDS survey and technical efforts.
Support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
Apply broad engineering knowledge and sound technical judgment to address complex mission requirements.
Evaluate technical needs and recommend effective engineering solutions that align with FAA objectives.
Apply state-of-the-art technologies and engineering practices to support mission success.
Collaborate with FAA personnel, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Support technical planning, review, coordination, and implementation activities.
Contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering support for FAA program operations.
Provide leadership to lower-level survey engineers.
Coordinate site visits with FAA field facilities.
Manage travel schedules and organize on-site team activities.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program and mission needs.
Qualifications Required:
15+ years of engineering experience
BS degree in engineering
Demonstrated experience supporting the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
Broad knowledge of engineering procedures and technical problem-solving.
Experience working on mission-focused engineering efforts.
Ability to travel frequently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Ability to support FAA-related work in a professional and responsive manner
Preferred
FAA experience supporting FMDS or related aviation programs
Experience in survey engineering or technical system support
Experience applying advanced or state-of-the-art engineering technologies
Prior experience working in a government, aviation, or federally regulated environment
Familiarity with mission-critical systems and technical program support

Physical Requirements
Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal
Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance
Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms
Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision
Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues
Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Compensation (Pay Bands) Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C.
