BlueFlag is seeking an ambitious, senior‑level Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic remote team. As a key player in our cloud infrastructure initiatives, you will architect, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for large enterprise environments, including a cutting‑edge data and analytics platform for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
What You’ll Do
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple providers, with a primary focus on Azure technologies.
Deliver data‑lake‑based integration and analysis services in support of business intelligence, data science, and machine learning efforts.
Spearhead the implementation of infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using Terraform, pushing the boundaries of automation and efficiency.
Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.
Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud‑based applications and data.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications.
Lead architecture discussions with clients and team members, articulating complex solutions with clarity and confidence.
Contribute to business development activities by crafting innovative cloud engineering solutions for proposals.
Stay up‑to‑date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

Requirements
Expert‑level proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
Extensive knowledge of Azure technologies.
Adherence to general cloud engineering best practices.
Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for process automation.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, especially CI/CD processes.
Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related fields.
US Citizen: Must be a citizen of the United States.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Desired
Software engineering experience, especially in web application development.
Strong background in cloud‑based networking, security, and data integration.
Knowledge of serverless computing.
Background in healthcare data management or experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Experience with large‑scale data analysis systems, such as Databricks, Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark or MPP databases.
Experience working with Apache Parquet and/or Delta Lake formatted data.
Experience supporting MLOps pipelines.
