Our Mission Delivering best-in-class, evidence-based cardiometabolic care by integrating academic research, clinical expertise, and real-world data. Our approach combines:
Lifestyle Management
– Remote patient monitoring, food and activity tracking, and regular video visits with registered dietitians.
Clinical Medication Management
– A structured, research-backed approach to optimizing both GLP-1 and non-GLP-1 therapies.
The Role As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building the foundation that makes this possible. You will shape how clinical signals, behavioral data, and operational events come together into a cohesive, trusted view of the patient journey. The systems you design will enable teams across FlyteHealth to move faster with confidence, testing new ideas, personalizing care, and learning from outcomes in near real time.
This role goes beyond analytics or reporting. Your work will directly influence how treatment models evolve, how product decisions are made, and how FlyteHealth demonstrates real world results to partners and patients. As the company grows, the data platform you help build will determine whether FlyteHealth can scale responsibly without losing clinical rigor, trust, or speed.
In short, this role matters because better data systems lead to better decisions, and better decisions lead to better health outcomes at scale.
Responsibilities Build and Scale FlyteHealth’s Data Platform
Design and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines across product, clinical, and partner systems
Model longitudinal patient and outcomes data to support analytics, experimentation, and care insights
Balance batch and near–real-time data use cases as the platform evolves
Enable Product, Clinical, and AI Use Cases
Partner closely with Product, Analytics, Clinical, and Data Science teams to deliver high-quality, trusted datasets
Support experimentation, cohort analysis, and personalization initiatives
Lay the technical foundation for AI-enabled workflows across care delivery and operations
Ensure Data Quality, Trust, and Compliance
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and observability
Establish shared definitions and metrics to create a single source of truth
Build systems that are auditable, secure, and compliant with healthcare data standards (e.g., HIPAA)
Act as a Senior Technical Leader
Make thoughtful architectural decisions and clearly communicate tradeoffs
Raise engineering standards through code reviews, documentation, and mentorship
Collaborate cross-functionally to turn ambiguous, evolving problems into durable systems
You’ll Be Great in This Role If You…
Have 6–8+ years of experience building production‑grade data systems
Are fluent in modern data stacks (cloud data warehouses, orchestration tools, transformation frameworks)
Write clean, maintainable SQL and Python scripts for the data pipeline
Have designed data models that support both analytics and operational workflows
Are comfortable operating in ambiguity and iterating toward scalable solutions
Think in systems, not just pipelines—and care deeply about long‑term maintainability
Bonus points if you’ve worked with:
Healthcare, clinical, claims, or outcomes data
Event‑driven or near–real‑time data architectures
AI/ML‑enabled products or experimentation platforms
AWS for cloud and data infrastructure and Airflow for data pipeline orchestration
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
Equity shares in a fast‑growing company
Discretionary PTO plan
Parental leave
Remote‑first company
Internet stipend for remote work
Paid company holidays
FlyteHealth is committed to diversity and inclusion and is an equal‑opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
