Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
with strong hands‑on expertise in managing critical databases across BSS/OSS environments. The role requires deep proficiency in planning, testing, and executing complex database upgrades and patching activities with zero or near‑zero impact to production services. The candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering end‑to‑end database migration initiatives such as on‑prem to cloud transitions or cross‑platform migrations while ensuring data integrity, system stability, and optimal performance throughout the migration lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, test, and execute complex database upgrades and patching across BSS/OSS environments with minimal or zero service impact.
Lead and manage end‑to‑end database migration projects (e.g., on‑prem to cloud, cross‑platform), ensuring post‑migration data integrity and performance.
Perform pre‑migration assessments, compatibility checks, and readiness validation to ensure smooth execution.
Conduct post‑migration validation and performance tuning to meet service and operational requirements.
Collaborate closely with BRM and OSS teams to align database changes with application dependencies and deployment timelines.
Ensure adherence to change management and release processes during upgrade and migration activities.
Maintain accurate documentation of upgrade procedures, migration plans, rollback strategies, and environment configurations.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands‑on experience in BRM and OSS database administration within BSS/OSS ecosystems.
Strong expertise in database upgrade planning, patching strategy, and execution under strict service‑availability constraints.
Proven experience leading database migration projects with demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity and performance.
Solid understanding of database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and post‑migration optimization.
Ability to work in cross‑functional environments and coordinate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams.
