Senior DevOps Manager Duties:
The Senior DevOps Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive DevOps strategy that enables the organization to deliver high-quality software products quickly and reliably. This role is an expert in setting up and/or leveraging the AWS infrastructure, while managing a successful team.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Define and drive the DevOps strategy, aligning with business objectives and integrating Agile practices to enhance delivery and operational excellence; collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product leadership to ensure infrastructure strategy aligns with platform and regulatory needs. Architect and implement secure, reliable, and scalable AWS infrastructure, with a focus on automation, cost-efficiency, and compliance. Lead and mentor a high-performing, globally distributed DevOps team supporting mission critical financial platforms, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement with a strong emphasis on Agile principles. Champion best practices in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code to streamline and enhance software delivery. Lead incident response and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system reliability and availability. Establish and track KPIs to measure portfolio health, team performance, and delivery efficiency, providing actionable insights to senior leadership. Promote Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to support iterative development and continuous delivery within DevOps teams. Embed security best practices across DevOps processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate risks across delivery and operations while effectively managing budgets for tools, infrastructure, and personnel. Ensure 24/7 system administration, monitoring and support coverage to meet uptime targets, enforce SLA’s and manage off-hour incident response as needed. Other duties as assigned by management. This job carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Pay Range
USD $130,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar relevant field; 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or DevOps engineering.
5 years in leadership roles, preferably within a regulated industry like Fintech or banking.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services, networking, IAM, encryption, monitoring and logging. Deep understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Lambda, New Relic). Proven success in implementing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines for highly regulated environments. Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance framework, and data protection practices in Fintech (SOC2, GDPR etc.) Experience with Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and practices in software development.
