Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Dublin City Centre Salary: €45,000 €55,000 DOE Key Projects Commercial building retrofit and energy upgrade projects HVAC and low-carbon heating system replacements Public sector and healthcare decarbonisation programmes An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Dublin city centre team, focusing on retrofit and decarbonisation projects across commercial and public sector developments. Responsibilities Deliver mechanical building services designs for retrofit projects Support HVAC, heat pump, ventilation, and energy efficiency upgrades Produce calculations, layouts, specifications, and technical reports Carry out site surveys and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams Support projects from concept through to construction stage Requirements Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering 34 years experience in mechanical design engineering Experience in retrofit, refurbishment, or decarbonisation projects Good knowledge of HVAC and sustainable building services systems Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and relevant design software Strong communication and organisational skills Desirable Consultancy experience Knowledge of NZEB, BER, or SEAI-funded projects Progress toward chartership advantageous Package Hybrid working Career progression opportunities Competitive salary and benefits package Skills: Mechanical Design Engineer
