Job Summary Aretum is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Technical Lead / Solutions Architect. As a Technical Lead / Solutions Architect, you will own end-to-end architecture, integration strategy, and alignment with VA enterprise standards. Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Define VAEC-aligned architecture (networking, containers, integration, security zones)
Lead integration across VistA, Cerner, CDW, and APIs
Oversee data flow design, system boundaries, and interoperability patterns
Guide ATO boundary definition and control inheritance strategy
Provide technical leadership across all engineers
Public Trust Eligibility Required.

Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift fundamentals
Healthcare Interoperability{{:}}
FHIR R4, CDS Hooks, SMART on FHIR, HL7 awareness
Enterprise Integration Patterns{{:}}
API gateway design, event-driven architecture, batch vs real-time tradeoffs
Data Architecture{{:}}
Data flow modeling, schema design, data lineage, normalization strategies
Security Architecture{{:}}
Zero Trust concepts, network segmentation, encryption strategies, RBAC
Travel Requirements This is a remote position; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training sessions. Travel is expected to be less than 10% and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
