divh2Medical Assistant/h2pThe Medical Assistant is a key member of the patient care team by supporting physicians and other clinicians in the delivery of high-quality health care to ambulatory patients. Medical Assistants are vital to the effective operations of a fast-paced medical practice. Medical Assistants help patients transition from the outside world into the providers office./ppThe Medical Assistant performs a variety of important tasks to promote optimal health for our patients, including:/pulliAssist physicians and other clinicians with important clinical duties including but not limited to taking medical histories and assisting in physical examinations/liliAct as a liaison between patients, physicians and other clinicians./liliMeasure patients vital signs/liliPrepare and administer vaccines/medications/liliDocument patient information into the electronic health record/liliCollect specimens for testing/li/ulpRequired Qualifications:/pulliHigh School Diploma or GED/liliGraduate of a medical assistant program or at least two years of medical assistant within the last five years./liliGood communications skills. Experience using a keyboard and computers./liliFamiliarity with equipment used in ambulatory care./liliCurrent AHA CPR certification./liliAbility to travel locally to multiple sites as needed./liliAbility to work in stressful conditions and difficult situations./liliResilient and flexible in a changing environment./liliAbility to cooperate and work with others./liliAbility to make sound and timely decisions and ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week./liliAbility to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients as needed, ability to stoop/bend./li/ulpAbility to lift to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
