Utilize your master-level expertise in diagnostics, advanced repairs, and preventative maintenance on both Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. In this role, you will lead the shop floor during the night shift, ensuring GFL’s fleet remains in safe, compliant, and continuous "road ready" condition while mentoring junior technicians.

Competitive Pay: Up to $34.00 / hour (depending on experience).
Shift Stability: Reliable 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM night shift schedule
Allowances: Generous Boot and Tool Allowances provided annually.

Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Masterfully diagnose and repair complex issues on Diesel and CNG-powered heavy-duty trucks, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, emission systems, and fuel/propane systems.
Precision Inspections: Independently lead and execute federal DOT and brake inspections, ensuring all steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and engine components meet strict safety compliance.
Shop Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the shift lead by providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Level B and C mechanics.
Workflow Optimization: Prioritize nightly repair orders to maximize shop efficiency, minimize fleet downtime, and ensure seamless morning rollouts.
Schematic Interpretation: Expertly read, interpret, and apply intricate electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic schematics.
Administrative Oversight: Review operator mechanical write-ups, coordinate repair schedules, accurately order parts, and document work orders using shop management software.
Safety Champion: Maintain a pristine, organized work area and strictly enforce OSHA, DOT, and internal GFL safety regulations.
Experience: 5+ years of heavy-duty Diesel and/or CNG maintenance experience.
Certifications: Must possess a valid Brake Safety Certification and Section 609 A/C Certification.
Technical Literacy: Proficient with industry-standard diagnostic software and comfortable navigating computer-based inventory/work order systems.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of DOT, OSHA, and federal/state compliance regulations.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., and comfortably bend, stand, climb, or crouch for extended periods.
CDL License: Active Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is highly preferred, OR the willingness and ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire (GFL supported).
ASE Certifications: Highly desired and factored into compensation.
Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention required for complex diagnostics.
Visual acuity requirements include close/distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to safely operate heavy trucks and specialized shop equipment.
