Cath Lab Nurse Location: Limerick Sector: Private Hospital Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent Overview A leading private hospital in Limerick is seeking an experienced and motivated Cath Lab Nurse to join its expanding cardiology team. The successful candidate will work within a highly specialised cardiac service, supporting interventional and diagnostic cardiology procedures while delivering exceptional patient-centred care in a modern acute hospital environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with acute cardiac or critical care experience to progress their career within a progressive and supportive private healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation and interventional cardiology procedures. Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures including angiograms, angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker insertions, and electrophysiology procedures. Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times. Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and cardiac emergencies. Administer medications and sedation in accordance with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families before and after procedures. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiographers, physiologists, and ward teams. Ensure a positive patient experience through compassionate and professional care. Adhere to infection prevention, radiation safety, HIQA, and hospital clinical governance standards. Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing service development. Maintain competency in advanced cardiac life support and emergency procedures. Candidate Requirements Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register. Minimum 2 years' acute hospital experience. Previous Cath Lab, Cardiology, CCU, ICU, or Theatre experience desirable. Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute environment. ACLS certification desirable. Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical excellence. Benefits Competitive salary package.
