*Job Summary*
The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Tyler Rental’s fleet of construction and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
* Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment
* Troubleshoot engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, and fuel systems
* Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
* Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and complete repairs
* Repair or replace components including pumps, cylinders, motors, sensors,
* Maintain accurate service records and work orders
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers
* Being a team player
*Equipment Worked On*
* Excavators, dozers, loaders, crushers
* Aerial equipment i.e. manlifts and scissor lifts
* Rental equipment and customer equipment
*Required Qualifications*
* High school diploma or GED
* 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel technician
* Strong understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems
* Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems
* Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop tools
* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in shop or field environments
* Able to travel to remote jobsites when required to repair equipment
* Must have complete set of tools
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Technical school or apprenticeship training
* OEM experience (John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Case, etc.)
* Field service experience a plus
* Welding/Fabrication experience
* Heavy duty truck/trailer repair
*Physical Requirements*
* Standing, kneeling, bending, climbing equipment
* Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Manual dexterity and visual acuity for diagnostics and repairs

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 51.0 per week
