Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our patient-centered care team on a full-time, day-shift basis within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, the RRT delivers evidence-based respiratory care to adult and, when applicable, pediatric and neonatal patients in both acute and critical care settings. The therapist performs comprehensive respiratory assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and evaluates patient responses to therapy, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. The RRT is responsible for administering prescribed respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene therapies, lung expansion techniques, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator management. The therapist sets up, operates, and troubleshoots a wide range of respiratory care equipment such as ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP devices, oxygen delivery systems, and monitoring equipment, ensuring proper function, safety, and accurate documentation in the medical record. Working within Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork, the RRT participates in daily patient care rounds, contributes to clinical decision-making, and provides timely communication regarding changes in patient condition. The therapist responds to respiratory emergencies, rapid response activations, and code situations, providing airway management, assisting with intubation, and supporting advanced life support interventions according to established protocols and professional standards. The role includes patient and family education on respiratory disease management, proper use of inhalers and home equipment, breathing exercises, and strategies to prevent exacerbations, all aligned with Piedmont’s commitment to patient-centered care. The RRT supports quality improvement initiatives, adheres to infection prevention and safety policies, and complies with regulatory and accreditation standards. Piedmont Healthcare offers a supportive, inclusive environment with opportunities for professional growth through ongoing training, continuing education, and development programs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across disciplines while consistently promoting the mission and values of Piedmont Healthcare during day-shift operations.
