DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Accountant 3, you will supervise and manage staff and operations of the Revenue and Cash Management (RCM) Unit, serving as a subject matter expert on various projects and initiatives. You will also be responsible for directly serving in the processing and oversight of essential Commonwealth revenue, accounting, cash management, and reporting functions to ensure fiscal stability, accountability and transparency. Work involves facilitating meetings, drafting business process procedures and proposals, as well as journalizing revenues and vendor refunds of expenditures in the form of checks, money orders, and EFT receipts.
Calculating interest allocations across multiple Commonwealth restricted accounts
Reviewing requests for new revenue general ledger accounts and related impacts to budgetary/financial reporting
Preparing year‑end accrued receivable schedules for the Department of Human Services for the yearly GAAP package
Auditing revenue adjustments pertaining to errors, transfers, and refunds of fees and other Commonwealth revenues
Updating unit database control log of processed checks and other workflow items
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full‑time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full‑time, with occasional in‑office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four‑year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
You must meet the residency and eligibility requirements as set by Pennsylvania law.
