Description of Role The U.S Account Transition Coordinator is a detail-oriented and client-focused individual who will complete account setups for new accounts transitioning into our customs brokerage operations. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new clients, aligning compliance requirements, and establishing efficient customs clearance processes. The ideal candidate will combine functional knowledge of customs regulations, knowledge of project management, and strong communication skills. This role reports to the Supervisor, U.S. Account Transition and works in a predominately remote environment. Occasional office hours may be required.
Responsibilities
New Account Onboarding:
Serve as a supporting point of contact for new clients during the transition phase, ensuring all documentation, compliance, and commodity specific requirements are met.
Customs Compliance:
Review and validate import/export documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agency regulations.
Process Setup:
Collaborate with internal departments (sales, operations, IT) to configure account-specific workflows, integration setups, and reporting tools.
Client Training & Support:
Support business analysts and the Supervisor, U.S. Account Transition with any necessary details and/or specialized SOPs defined at setup to allow for a successful customer training and support at go live. Occasionally assist with client education on customs procedures, documentation requirements, and system usage to ensure a smooth start to their operations. Identify and resolve or, when necessary, escalate any issues that arise during the transition period.
Documentation & Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate records of all onboarding activities, including client communications, compliance checks, and system configurations. Provide feedback to improve onboarding processes and enhance client experience.
Integration Setup:
Develop detailed customer profiles to support the implementation of proprietary integrated solutions, ensuring a seamless transition through comprehensive training and support for integration staff
Qualifications
High School Diploma (required)
College or University Degree in Business Administration or Project Management (asset)
Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (asset)
Certified Customs Specialist (asset)
3+ years of experience in customs brokerage, with a focus on client onboarding or account management
Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and HTS classification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in customs brokerage software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
