The
Senior Development Manager
is accountable for executing strategies to expand annual giving, community fund-raising and special event sponsorships to secure at least $475,000 annually to advance the CHS mission. Overall, the
Senior Development Manager
contributes to CHS’s strategic objective of reimagining what HOME means by creating spaces where every child and family is supported and has access to the opportunities they need to pursue their dreams.

Growth and professional development opportunities
Execute strategies to expand annual giving, community fundraising and special event sponsorships to secure at least $475,000 annually to advance the CHS mission.
Partner in the development of strategies to achieve increases in annual revenue.
Collaborate with the Development Team and Special Events leaders to execute fundraising strategies and objectives, including implementing best practices, achieving benchmarks, and focusing on key performance indicators.
Develop, maintain, and strengthen relations with local businesses, community partners and current/prospective donors through engagement efforts such as program tours and visits; identify new sources of fundraising revenue.
Participate in the creation and execution of events appropriate to annual giving and community fundraising strategies, securing at least $475,000 annually; work closely with developing and handing off high capacity donors to the Major Gift Officer, if one is present.
Create and manage special events:
Ensure special events stay on event timeline; communicate to manager if event is off track according to the event timeline.
Ensure events have a strong volunteer committee and succession plans for event leadership, with the goal of maintaining a leadership pipeline of three volunteers serving 2-year terms for all leadership positions.
Ensure strong sponsorship pipelines.
Support board recruitment and relationship management.
Assist in the creation and distribution of collateral and marketing materials.
Partner with the Development and Communications Teams to organize meetings, trainings, and recognition events, when needed.
Attend events to build and deepen relationships with prospective and current donors and other key constituents.
Represent CHS at donor, community and special events, as needed.
Program Administration & Reporting
Adhere to CHS policies and practices regarding risk management, donation processing and financial controls.
Work closely with the CRM Administrator and the Data Team to track and record gifts and donor records, managing all data in accordance with CHS requirements and external regulations.
Use the CRM to document activity within two business days, staying current with changes while following moves management policy and practices.
Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.
Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues, best practices, and trends.
Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process.
Comply with CHS’s code of conduct, policies, procedures and other obligations.
Assist with training other team members and providing back-up when necessary.
Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications Education, Licenses & Certifications Required
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Philanthropy, or related degree from accredited university. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience Required
– Three or more years of experience in professional fundraising across multiple channels. Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing $25,000+ in donations/gifts.
Preferred
– Experience in the use of fundraising software and tools.
Knowledge of
Community resources and networks to enhance client experiences and results.
General Development/Philanthropy and fund raising principles, practices and performance standards.
General confidentiality requirements and ethical standards in handling sensitive client-related and other data and information.
Skills and Proficiency in
