Job Title : Senior Software Engineer – API & Event‑Driven Systems
Location : Remote, USA (Raleigh, NC Preferred)
Type : 12 Month Contract
Role Overview We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in API engineering, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture. This engineer will execute the design for the next generation of services that sit between legacy mainframe systems and modern distributed platforms.
Responsibilities
Design and build enterprise-grade APIs
Consolidate legacy system APIs into a single enterprise API
Implement event-driven patterns and change data capture
Build a data access layer for legacy modernization
Serve as a hands-on architect contributing to design and delivery
Ideal Background / Qualifications
8+ years of software engineering experience
Strong API development and security background
Java Frameworks and TIBCO experience
API gateway experience (Apigee, Layer7)
Experience with event streaming tools (Kafka, MQ)
Experience with mainframe modernization (Hogan a plus)
Strong distributed systems knowledge
Banking or deposit platform experience
Experience with CDC and mainframe offload
Location & Type Location: Remote, USA (Raleigh, NC Preferred)
Type: 12 Month Contract
