Senior Transmission Line Engineer
– We are seeking a senior engineer who will work as a member of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as an engineer on electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for major utilities. This position applies NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects. Responsibilities include performing engineering analyses, preparing bidding documents, drafting plans and specifications, and preparing material procurement and construction documents. The role involves working with a multi-person Leidos team and interfacing with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel. Work Location:
This position is 100% REMOTE, but candidate must reside in Michigan to be considered.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include support for electric transmission line design projects and related activities, including:
Apply engineering standards and code requirements to design overhead and underground transmission systems.
Develop and review PLS-CADD models, foundations, material specifications, plans and profiles, and construction packages.
Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement, and construction documents.
Interface with clients and project teams, including planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Lead or supervise project tasks as required for Senior and SME levels.
Travel or work at client offices as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
Leadership experience and supervising others (required for Senior and SME levels).
Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required.

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
