Location: Remote - Florida Department: Coding Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1 Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $31.15 - $42.04 / hour Responsibilities
The Outpatient Coding Supervisor oversees a team of direct reports and the daily operations of the outpatient coding team. This role ensures accurate and timely coding of outpatient medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines, supports coding staff including training and training oversight, ensures department processes are followed, and serves as a resource for coding questions and documentation clarification. The supervisor demonstrates effective judgment and problem resolution, communicates with other departments and/or providers, and maintains integrity and strong attention to detail. Requirements
Associate Degree in Health Information Management required; applicable experience may substitute for education. Minimum 3 years of outpatient coding experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT or RHIA required. In-depth knowledge of outpatient coding including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM. Experience with coding software and Epic preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Integrity and strong attention to detail.
