About The Role The
Field Support Specialist
provides onsite technical and consultative support for Nova Biomedical products within an assigned territory, including installation, maintenance, repairs and staff training. The role requires independent management of customer needs, service documentation, performance metrics and strong customer relationships to ensure consistent service quality and satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for overall onsite customer satisfaction with Nova Biomedical products in the assigned geographical territory.
Provide both reactive and proactive consultative support to customers and manage all field support requirements within the territory.
Exercise independent judgment to manage all local customer support requirements.
Drive key performance indicators locally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, including on‑site response time, on‑time PMs, second days, recalls and primary representative utilization.
Make independent daily business decisions on customer call prioritization, local calendar scheduling, inventory management, unscheduled customer satisfaction calls and determine appropriate length and duration of onsite activities.
Perform on‑site new product installations, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and associated customer training at all laboratory levels.
Complete and return service documentation and regulatory paperwork to satisfy U.S. FDA requirements.
Perform IQ/OQ activities such as correlation, linearity, precision to assist customers with instrument validation for local accreditation requirements.
Maintain acceptable productivity, customer satisfaction, KPI’s and other peer comparisons as determined by the local Regional Support Manager.
Attend and assist at trade shows, customer seminars and similar marketing events.
Maintain service level agreements, properly bill customers for service performed and parts used, and review onsite customer spares inventory of Nova products to ensure maximum uptime.
Identify new sales opportunities through day‑to‑day customer interaction and forward sales leads to the Nova Sales department.
Exercise fiscal awareness to control expenses through proper inventory management and good judgment with all Nova property (company car, inventory, credit card).
Use the Nova Travel Office properly and maintain a proper home office space for Nova assets.
What We Are Looking For In You
Clinical and/or biotechnology laboratory knowledge and/or experience required.
Above average verbal communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel within or outside the assigned territory.
Ability to work independently with little daily supervision.
Exercise mature and professional judgment with sensitive information (HIPAA, corporate intellectual property).
Valid driver’s license in the home state with a good driving record and a nationally accepted credit card for job‑related use.
A Medical Technologist, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy degree or Electronics background required.
Minimum of 1–3 years of diagnostics industry‑related experience.
Physical Requirements For This Role Include
Travel by car or airplane for prolonged periods.
Work in a standing or sitting position for prolonged periods.
Lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Location: Remote, Field - Northeast, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Targeted Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
