HEDIS Medical Record Analyst - TEMP

Work from home within WA, OR, ID, UT. Those outside of our 4-state footprint will not qualify for this role.
This position will start May 2026, and the assignment will be for approximately 6 months.
The base pay range for this temporary role is $42.00-$46.00 an hour DOE. This is a non-benefit role.
Responsibilities
Retrieve, abstract, or overread medical records to capture required data elements for HEDIS reporting.
Collect assigned medical records from EMR/EHR systems and prepare them for medical record abstraction.
Document retrieval progress and findings for each EMR accessed.
Communicate effectively and professionally with provider offices.
Review assigned medical records to abstract specified clinical data elements for HEDIS reporting (e.g., date of service of breast cancer screening, date of service and results of laboratory tests related to chronic conditions).
Document abstraction findings on appropriate paper and/or electronic tools as directed by the HEDIS MR Team.
Communicate additional pursuit strategies, if needed, to other team members as defined in the department’s policies and procedures (e.g., request a call back to provider office for additional clarifying information).
Qualifications
HEDIS Medical Record experience highly preferred.
Associate degree in Nursing or a related field and 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Experience working with medical records and/or experience with EMR/EHR systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Attributes
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated command of medical terminology, navigation of EMR/EHR systems, medical record documentation, and clinical processes.
Demonstrated problem solving ability.
Knowledge of Microsoft office products is desirable.
Understanding of HIPAA.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG coding conventions a plus.
Knowledge of FACETS a plus.
Experience with quality oversight and teaching desired.
Prior experience in HEDIS and medical record retrieval and/or abstraction for quality or research projects.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registration, etc.
Valid Registered Nursing (RN/LVN/LPN) – one of the following is preferred.
CPC – Certified Professional Coder.
CCS – Certified Coding Specialist.
A background check is required.
