Key Responsibilities
Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and related school activities.
Provide telehealth interpreting services to support remote learning and virtual meetings.
Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional code of ethics in all interpreting assignments.
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices and technology in deaf education and telehealth interpretation.
Qualifications
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
Experience delivering telehealth interpreting services in educational settings.
Familiarity with school-based communication protocols and instructional environments.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to varying communication needs.
Availability for a contract position based in Hartford, CT.
