Full-time About FCAAP: The Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP) is Florida’s premier organization representing the interests of pediatricians and pediatric providers in Florida. FCAAP and its more than 2,900 members believe it’s a moral imperative that all children receive quality healthcare, not just for their immediate wellbeing, but also to encourage their growth into productive, contributing adults that will ensure a bright future for our state and its residents for decades to come. Through vigorous advocacy for children and pediatricians, programs to promote and support pediatrics as a career choice for medical students and new physicians, continuing education opportunities and events, and so much more, FCAAP provides the necessary tools, resources, and support to build the best foundation for Florida’s children. Position Overview: The Engagement Coordinator supports the mission and goals of the Florida Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP) and the Florida Pediatric Foundation (FPF) by overseeing member recruitment, retention, engagement, and communications. This role works closely with the Executive Director, FCAAP leadership, committees, and partners to enhance member value, strengthen relationships, and support organizational communication strategies. The Engagement Coordinator manages individual, Enterprise, and Corporate membership programs; develops member benefits; leads internal and external communications; and supports activities that advance the engagement of members, partners, and the public. Key Responsibilities: Membership Engagement
Maintain accurate contact lists for members, non-members, and prospects. Develop recruitment and retention materials for individual, Enterprise, and Corporate membership. Design and implement campaigns to retain existing members and recruit new members. Identify and pursue prospective Enterprise Members in collaboration with the national AAP membership department. Identify and pursue prospective Corporate Members in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Events. Work with the Board of Directors, Regional Representatives, and the Membership Committee to support member outreach and connection. Respond to inquiries regarding membership, benefits, and engagement opportunities. Connect members to appropriate programs, services, and resources. Identify, develop, and maintain member benefits, preferred provider programs, affiliate opportunities, and recognition programs. Regularly review and report membership data and trends. Plan, host, advertise, and manage all aspects of member engagement activities, including the FCAAP Wellness Program. Communications & Marketing
Maintain distribution lists for all FCAAP communications and publications. Prepare and distribute communications to members, including newsletters, announcements, and engagement updates. Collaborate with the Publications Coordinator on website content, updates, and design for both the public and member-only websites. Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and related materials as requested. Track and respond to media inquiries in coordination with appropriate staff and leadership. Prepare letters of support, nomination letters, and sign-on letters as needed. Manage FCAAP’s social media presence, including creating calendars, scheduling posts, monitoring interactions, and identifying engagement opportunities. Review and report analytics on communications performance, including open rates, reach, engagement trends, and related metrics. Advertising, Branding, and Member Promotion
Work with the Publications Coordinator on advertising materials for membership recruitment, retention, and benefits promotion. Collaborate on branding initiatives, including promotional materials for events, programs, and recognition activities. Support the development of promotional content for newsletters, journals, social media, and the website. Programs, Meetings & Events Support
Assist with on-site supervision of meetings, conferences, retreats, and programs as requested. Assist in preparing meeting materials, presentations, and pre-event communications. Support post-event activities including surveys and follow-up correspondence. Help develop engagement tools such as polls, surveys, raffles, and other interactive features for events and programs. Board & Committee Support
Assist the Membership Committee by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, distributing minutes, and supporting member participation. Prepare reports and present membership updates to the Membership Committee and Board of Directors as required. Support planning teams and working groups for membership initiatives and engagement projects. Advocacy Communications Support
Maintain distribution lists for advocacy communications. Collaborate with FCAAP’s lobbyists and legislative committees to create and distribute calls to action. Assist with the design of legislative blueprints and informational materials in partnership with the Publications Coordinator and advocacy leaders. General Administrative Support
Respond promptly to postal mail, email, faxes, phone calls, and voicemails. Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director regarding assignments and feedback. Maintain communication with the national AAP membership department regarding recruitment opportunities, membership data, and benefit updates. Assist FCAAP leadership and staff with projects and initiatives as needed. This list is not exhaustive. Responsibilities may change based on the evolving needs of FCAAP and FPF. Qualifications: Experience in member engagement, communications, marketing, or nonprofit administration Impeccable written communication Customer service mindset and ability to work with diverse audiences and personalities Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities Comfort working independently in a remote environment Collaborative, team-oriented approach Proficiency with common office and communication tools Compensation & Benefits: Starting salary:
$47,000 Annual performance-based bonus opportunity Fully remote
