This is a remote position. Wired Engineering is a Technology Engineering Consulting firm that was founded on the principle of providing exceptional low-voltage systems engineering to our clients. Requirements
Technology Engineer Job Responsibilities:
At Wired Engineering our employees wear many hats and encourage innovation that fosters advancements. These are the basic responsibilities of the role, but we ask that candidates understand that this list is not all-inclusive.
Designs telecommunication structured cabling systems including copper and fiber cabling.
Designs Physical Security Systems including, electronic access control, power supplies, wiring diagrams, evaluating door hardware, intercom systems, PLC design and how industry standards apply to design decisions.
Designs Surveillance Systems using 3d modeling software to ensure the desired views and image clarity are met, and that all calculations are accurately indicated in design documentation (i.e. field of view, resolutions, etc.).
Designs Audio/Video systems including speaker systems, microphones, displays, projectors, and control systems.
Sets up projects and produces designs using Revit.
Evaluates, identifies, and documents the electrical and cooling requirements for various systems.
Prepares specifications for use in construction.
Uses Smartsheet for Project Management related tasks.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Assists staff with designs and questions
Ensures client satisfaction is maintained by managing expectations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Revit Design and Modeling (Required)
Problem-solving ability and self/team accountability
Detail oriented
Understanding of IT infrastructure, Security, and Audio/Video Systems
Experience in Autodesk AEC software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360)
Proficiency in Bluebeam
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel (minimum))
Team mentality
Time management and deadline conscience
Preference for quality over quantity Understanding of IT Networking
Proficiency in Smartsheet
System Budgeting
Desired Education, Experience, & Licensing:
We understand that candidates may not have all the credentials listed below.
BS in electrical engineering from an ABET Accredited college or university required
5+ years relevant work experience, including internship or cooperative program experience
Professional Engineer License (PE)
Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD)
Certified Technology Specialist or Designer (CTS/CTS-D)
Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Salary:
We offer competitive salaries and bi-annual bonuses. Our annual raises are based on inflation and not on performance. Performance-related incentives are offered through promotions and bi-annual bonuses.

Work Hours:
We believe that flexibility is critical in maintaining work/life balance and yields better results. We work hard to meet our clients’ needs, but don’t believe that can only happen Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM. We offer flexible working hours and we proactively forecast our workloads to ensure that the work/life balance we promote is maintained and no member of the Wired Engineering team is overburdened.
Work Location:
We are firm believers that quality work can happen anywhere in the world. This position is offered as 100% remote, so you have the freedom to work where it best suits your productivity. Ideal candidates will be located in Central Florida to be able to assist with local projects, but exceptions can be made to very well-qualified candidates who are highly skilled in design and production.
