Primary Responsibilities
Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and report policy violations.
Design and configure complex solutions and provide system engineering support.
Partner with Solution Architects on change requests (CR) and customer special requests (CSR).
Maintain deep technical knowledge of F5 products and the surrounding ecosystem.
Use F5 sales strategy and messaging to identify solutions that meet customer business objectives.
Develop and support presentations for customers and partners.
Articulate technical features and business benefits of the F5 value proposition.
Monitor the competitive landscape and share insights with relevant teams.
Create case studies, white papers, and media content.
Build collaborative, team‑based relationships and share best practices.
Negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
Utilize internal SE tools (Salesforce.com, Vivun, SharePoint, Highspot, and other AI‑oriented resources).
Maintain detailed account profiles, including organizational charts and technology needs.
Leverage F5 resources to support the sales team.
Deliver world‑class customer service during pre‑sales and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead strategic opportunities and focus on one or more technology areas (e.g., application delivery, application security, AI, microservices).
Prepare customized product presentations using a solution‑based sales approach.
Provide consultative support and create documentation for proof‑of‑concept.
Understand business requirements for technical account strategy.
Work with Engineering, Product Development, and Technical Support teams.
Solve problems independently and creatively.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Channel Support Activities
Support F5 channel partner sales initiatives.
Provide sustainable training and competitive differentiation to channel partners.
Offer technical expertise and oversight as required.
Collaborate with channel and sales management to qualify partner selling capability.
Post‑Sales Activities
Understand and follow the escalation process.
Partner with Technical Support and customers/partners to resolve issues.
Qualifications
Significant pre‑sales or systems engineering experience.
Years of experience in Public Clouds, Application Security, Application Delivery, Network Infrastructure, DevOps, SaaS, IaaS or PaaS environments. Knowledge of AI applications and environments is a plus.
Proficiency with Linux OS, scripting, and administration.
Programming or DevOps experience is a plus.
AI application development experience is a plus.
Strong presentation, communication, and account management skills.
Experience with F5 core products or equivalent competitor offerings.
In‑depth knowledge of application delivery and security solutions.
Effectiveness in written and oral communication.
First‑class presentation abilities.
Fluent written and spoken English; native Italian speaker.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Role based in Rome with home office setup.
Remote/virtual meetings encouraged, but travel is required.

Reports to the Manager of Solutions Engineering in Milan.
