Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), PRN, Nights to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team providing high-quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of acuity levels. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will deliver safe, evidence-based respiratory therapies in alignment with Piedmont’s mission of patient-centered care. Working primarily night shifts on a PRN (as-needed) basis, you will assess, plan, and implement respiratory treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in a hospital setting. You will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, administer medications and therapeutic gases, initiate and manage non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, conduct diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting care plans in coordination with physicians and nursing staff. You will be responsible for promptly recognizing signs of respiratory distress, participating in emergency and rapid response situations, and supporting airway management, including intubation assistance and resuscitation in accordance with established protocols. Documentation of all respiratory care activities will be completed accurately and timely within the electronic medical record. In this role, you will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes, support safe transitions of care, and educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and disease management.
