Essex County OB/GYN is currently seeking an experienced Certified or Non-Certified Medical Assistant Level I, II, or III to join our team. If you want to work with great people and become part of our highly-regarded practice, apply today!
Essex County OB/GYN has multiple locations. Our clinical staff rotate between offices as needed. The locations are Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, and Haverhill.
*Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team providing direct patient care and supporting the OB/GYN team with inpatient care. This 2 weekend per month on-call position is based from home, with some set in-hospital time (ie; postpartum rounds and circumcisions Saturday and Sunday mornings). Would be 62 hours per weekend from Friday 5pm – Monday 7am. PA will be responsible for answering pages from patients and hospital ED as well as inpatient units. PA will perform ER and inpatient GYN consults with supervision of OB/GYN MD. PA will prep patients needing urgent surgery and depending on procedure may be required to assist MD. PA may be required to assist with unscheduled cesareans over the weekend depending on unit census.
*Responsibilities*
* Patient Assessment & Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough physical exams and gather detailed medical histories from patients to accurately diagnose illnesses and injuries.
* *Treatment Planning & Implementation:*
Develop and manage patient-specific treatment plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, lab work, MRI, CT) and prescribing medications.
* *Procedural Skills:*
Circumcision, nexplanon insertion, assist surgeries
* *Patient & Family Education:*
Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment options, self-care techniques, and preventive health measures.
* *Collaboration & Communication:*
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, comprehensive patient care.
* *Documentation:*
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in Epic (EHR) and comply with confidentiality regulations.
*Qualifications: *
* Graduation from an accredited PA program and experience caring for obstetrics and gynecological patients as well as surgical assisting.
* Current state licensure and national certification as a Physician Assistant.
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and caring approach.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced healthcare team.
* Proficiency with electronic health records Epic EHR system.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
