The Assistant Team Leader provides leadership for the successful operation of the entire front-end of the store. Responsibilities include associate development, customer service, asset protection, store maintenance, managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and the timely completion of related reports. The Assistant Team Leader ensures store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet all operational expectations, maintains the front-end and exterior of the building, provides daily tasks to all associates, organizes and maintains office areas, supports the Door to Floor process and merchandising initiatives, completes the monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test, leads monthly safety meetings, ensures customer service standards meet company expectations, completes price changes, assists with coaching, training, developing, evaluating, supervising, and scheduling store associates, performs all team leader functions to open and close the store when needed, provides leadership with associates regarding donation programs and Ollie's Army sign up and membership, assists with maintaining the proper hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of candidates, and completes any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of 1-2 years retail experience in a supervisory role, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, ability to read, write and speak English, ability to manage in a professional work environment, ability to exercise sound judgment, ability to preserve confidentiality of information, accuracy and attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize tasks, knowledge of industry terms and processes, ability to effectively communicate and delegate tasks, outstanding interpersonal and listening skills, and a positive attitude with the ability to interact well with customers and associates.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend and twist frequently, grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently, squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally, see, hear, and speak regularly, work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, operate a motor vehicle, and have a valid state issued license.
