Bluestem PACE is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team! This position will work between our McPherson and Hutchinson locations as needed. The hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct treatment to participants under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA helps implement individualized therapy plans designed to restore function, prevent disability, and promote wellness for older adults living in the community.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver physical therapy interventions per the established plan of care, under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Observe participant response to treatment and report findings to the supervising therapist.
• Document daily treatments and participant progress in the medical record system.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to coordinate participant care.
• Assist with participant transfers, mobility, and the use of adaptive equipment.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and report safety concerns.
• Plan individual and group activities and implement treatment according to plan.
• Educate and instruct participants and family members in proper care and use of various supports and exercise programs and in use of durable medical equipment in the home.
• Exhibit communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses to treatment.
• Train PACE staff in methods to maximize safety and functional abilities.
• Know and adhere to the philosophy and goals of Bluestem PACE.
• Transport participants and/or equipment in one's personal vehicle or PACE vehicle as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be at least eighteen [18]-years of age
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Must have a current Kansas PTA license in good standing
• Must have CPR certification
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Prefer experience with older adults or in a geriatric setting

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
