Product Specialist

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Product Specialist to join our team. This position's responsibilities will include marketing, specification, and sale of fabricated pipe and other pipe-related products including fittings within a defined Central sales region. (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Eastern Missouri).

Specific responsibilities include implementing the marketing strategy for fabricated pipe, fittings and all USP products, establishing new accounts, negotiating new contracts, selling and servicing established accounts, customers, and end users. The role also involves building and maintaining internal and external customer relationships, comprehending and deploying industry knowledge, continuing to educate and promote the industry, company, and products, and solving problems involving customer relations, data analysis of competitive products and competitors, marketing strategy, bidding, pricing, and distribution channels.

Qualifications include a minimum of a BS in Business, Management, Marketing, or Engineering, (Engineering degree preferred) or the equivalent of five years continuous direct industry selling experience, preferably in marketing, selling and/or customer service. The candidate must demonstrate mastery of selling the company's products and managing complex sales orders, produce results within the entire sales region, and have advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent presentation skills, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and motivate others are also required.

The role involves working "on road" 65%-80% business travel, heavy at times, with some business trips to various pipe plants. The employee will be exposed to extreme heat & cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles. The employee will be required to perform actions such as standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting. The ability to practice "defensive" driving techniques is a plus.
