This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. Also, must perform routine daily tasks required in maintaining the health, comfort and wellbeing of the residents./ppCertified Medication Technician CMT - Essential Responsibilities:/pulliAdministers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with community policy./liliMust demonstrate knowledge of five rights of medication administration. Administers and records all medication given to residents based upon their specific chart./liliMay take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications./liliCertified Medication Technician CMT records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information as needed./liliObserves and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse immediately./liliAdministers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy./liliEnsure antiseptic techniques and good hand washing practices for infection control, as well as utilizing universal precautions are in place and practiced./liliCertified Medication Technician CMT reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents./liliSubmit incident/accident reports to supervisor or Administrator within twentyfour (24) hours after their occurrence./liliCommunicates with medical staff, nursing service and other department supervisors./liliCertified Medication Technician CMT supervises care staff in absence of nurses./liliMaintains, cleans and organizes the Medication Room./liliMaintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for resident activities./liliAttends all required training, in-service and staff meetings/liliMay be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals./liliMay be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses./liliMaintain resident confidentiality, staff confidentiality; treat staff and residents with kindness, dignity and respect./liliComply with Residents Rights rules./li/ulpCertified Medication Technician CMT - Requirements:/pulliA High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience./liliCertified Medication Technician certification required./li/ulpMorningside Elite Management provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws./p/div
