Patient Care Technician
Join our dedicated team and make a difference in patient care! As a Patient Care Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll provide essential, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients. This role is focused on assisting nurses and respiratory therapists with complex patient care tasks, ensuring comfort and safety for patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients, assisting with daily activities such as hygiene, turning, ambulation, feeding, and post-mortem care.
- Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and conduct bedside tests (e.g., blood glucose) with prompt reporting in Meditech.
- Maintain patient safety, including adhering to isolation and protective equipment protocols.
- Support respiratory care by adjusting tracheostomy masks, ventilator tubing, and other essential respiratory equipment.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment by responding to call lights, supporting patient orientation, and assisting with admissions and discharges.
- Engage in team meetings, continuing education, and committees, meeting annual clinical and performance requirements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or documentation of nursing fundamentals, supervised clinical experience, and competency testing.
- Demonstrated completion of PCT competencies.
- CPR certification required
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and push heavy equipment for extended periods.
