Job Description: The Sales Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through new business development, client relationship management, and project sales support. This role combines strategic sales leadership with technical estimating responsibilities, including developing project bids, managing sales pipelines, and promoting services across industrial, water/wastewater, rail, and related infrastructure markets. The position works closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to identify opportunities, deliver proposals, and expand market presence. Key Responsibilities Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across targeted markets while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. Prepare and develop project cost estimates using bid drawings, specifications, and customer scope requirements. Manage and maintain an active sales pipeline, including tracking opportunities, customer interactions, project schedules, and follow-up activities. Conduct job walks and site visits to understand project scope, identify requirements, and support proposal development. Develop project bid scope letters, technical documentation, and pre-qualification materials to support successful contract awards. Collaborate with internal departments including engineering, service, and marketing teams to ensure project alignment and customer satisfaction. Promote company services and expand brand presence through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship building. Analyze market conditions and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly. Present solutions and proposals to customers ranging from operational personnel to senior management stakeholders. Support strategic growth initiatives by identifying new markets, services, and customer segments. Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and communication across departments to support sales and project execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related technical field preferred. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sales, business development, estimating, or territory management within industrial, electrical, construction, or process control environments. Experience reviewing technical drawings, project specifications, and bid documentation. Strong understanding of project estimating, proposal development, and sales processes. Demonstrated ability to build long-term client relationships and generate new business opportunities. Mechanical or technical aptitude with familiarity in industrial controls, SCADA, telecommunications, or infrastructure systems preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and customer data. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to travel to client sites and project locations as required. Preferred Experience Experience working in water/wastewater, rail, manufacturing, industrial automation, or process control industries. Familiarity with electrical or instrumentation estimating and industrial system integration projects. Proven success managing regional or multi-state sales territories. Travel Requirements Travel may range from occasional local site visits to regional travel depending on territory needs.
