Caregiver Needed

Preferred Care at Home of Westchester and Putnam is a family-oriented home care agency and we are currently looking for experienced caregivers to join our dynamic team. As a caregiver, you're responsible for providing non-medical care and companionship for clients who need assistance in their daily living needs. Essential job functions:

• Assisting clients with their activities of daily living that include companionship, meal preparations, laundry, light housekeeping, assistance with hygiene regimens, stand-by walking, grocery shopping, errands, and doctor appointments.

• Engages clients in an appropriate conversation.

• Entertains clients by reading newspapers or books, playing memory games, completing puzzles, etc.

• Compliance with agency policies related to all areas of privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in home care for at least 2-3 years.

• Physical and mental ability to perform essential functions of the position

• Possess basic communication, reading, and writing skills in English

• Ability to work independently

• Proper hygiene and appropriate dress at all times.

• HHA (Home Health Aide Certification, PCA (Personal Care Aide Certification) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) (preferred)

• Must have available, reliable transportation (must be willing to travel/drive to Westchester and Putnam County)

• Must be residing in the US
