divh2Medication Aide (MA-C)/h2pCHESTERWOOD SENIOR LIVING AND MEMEORY CARE is looking for medication aides to assist in the administering of medications and treatments to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing./ppPay ranges from $22.00 - $26.00 an hour depending on licensure and experience, plus additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts./ppMust have a MA-C certification to function as a medication aide in a nursing home./ppResponsibilities:/pulliFollows the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents./liliReport any medication error, clinical issue or resident need that is unable to be addressed by this position to the charge nurse and/or nurse manager./liliAssists in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how they can be prevented./liliPerforms administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, documentation, etc., and submit these as may be required./liliMaintains a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of the department of nursing, attending physicians, the Medical Director, and pharmacists./liliAttends and participates in care plan meetings as necessary. Participates in the development and implementation of the residents comprehensive assessment as necessary./li/ulpClinical/Drug Administration:/pulliAccurately and safely prepares, administers, and documents the oral, nasal, otic, ophthalmic, inhalation, and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician or the Medical Director./liliAs necessary, accurately measures, records, and reports the vital signs of residents./liliVerifies identity of patient receiving medication./liliFollows facility procedures in regard to documentation and storage of medications./liliFollows facility policies and procedures regarding the destroying of medications; assists in carrying out these rules under the direction of the facility pharmacist or Director of Nursing Services, including the documentation requirements./liliClarifies any order or treatment regimen as needed./liliOrders medications; returning all discharge medications for credit in compliance with federal state regulations./liliMaintains clean and orderly medication room and cart./liliCompletes any other required forms and documents in accordance with company policy state and/or federal regulations./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliActive certification in the state to practice as a medication aide./liliMust possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public./liliMust be able to relate information concerning a residents condition./liliMust provide documentation of such certification upon application for the position./liliMust not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace./li/ul/div
