If you're a licensed physical therapist interested in joining a team of compassionate healthcare professionals, you might be a great fit for our team. You will work with people who have trouble moving because of surgery or an injury and create a plan for effective treatment. This position is in charge of delivering physical therapy treatments to patients to help them feel less pain and move around better, as well as developing their health and fitness plans.
Our ideal candidate must be able to manage different types of patient issues while staying current on the most recent techniques and methods for treatment. This position requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy and current state licensure. If this sounds like a great opportunity, apply now!
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of the Physical Therapist
- Implement treatment plans established by the supervising PT
- Assist patients with exercises to improve strength, mobility, balance, and endurance
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising PT
- Document patient visits and treatment notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and fall prevention
- Maintain compliance with home health regulations and agency policies
- Review the data gathered from the patient's tests and examinations, then make recommendations based on your findings
- Use physical therapy on patients to reduce pain and improve mobility as advised by doctor
- Ask patients about their physical status, including any injuries or mobility concerns
- Collaborate with others in the medical field and seek their opinions
- Ensure that patient care records are correct, and adhere to all regulations and guidelines
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Michigan
- Home health experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Current CPR certification
- Successful candidates will need strong analytical, communication, and observational skills
- Must have a bachelor's degree or higher and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Passage of the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) is required for this position
- Must have a current state license to practice in the state you reside in
- We prefer candidates with some previous experience working directly with patients in a healthcare setting
