The Assistant Store Manager should know the necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in their absence, on a short-time basis./ppDuties and Responsibilities/pulliSupport the Cavenders Culture and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values/liliAssist in the management of the retail store and the supervision of store associates/liliKnow necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in his/her absence/liliAssist in the day-to-day operation of the store/liliAssist in the training of new store associates/liliAssist in the preparation of store reports/liliMaintain an awareness of safety/security issues and report any accidents or incidents occurring during the Store Managers absence to the Store Manager promptly/liliUnderstand and implement company policies and procedures/liliAssist in the effort to increase sales, maintain profit structure and reduce controllable expenses/liliOpen and close store as directed/liliAssist in performing daily check-ups and making bank deposits/liliAssist in the maintenance of interior/exterior store image and appearance (including staff appearance)/liliAssist in the maintenance of all records and files/liliReview and correct timecard exceptions and missed punches, and approve payroll/liliAssist in the practice of shrinkage control through preventative measures and through legal prosecution (when possible) upon catching anyone stealing from the company/liliAssist in resolution of personnel/customer problems and complaints/liliAssist in all other duties considered usual and customary in the retail apparel/footwear industry/liliAssist store manager in all other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors or home office/liliUnderstand all reports generated by the home office and coach all associates the actions needed to ensure compliance to goals (i.e. ADS / UPTs / Payroll / Refunds / Turnover)/li/ulpQualifications and Requirements/pulliAbility to comprehend basic instructions/liliAbility to interpret documents/liliAbility to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks/liliAbility to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond/liliAbility to analyze information and write reports/liliAssociate must be able to read English./liliAssociate must be able to understand English/liliAssociate must be able to stay alert during work hours assigned/li/ulpCavenders is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
