Job duties include operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing product, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, cleaning equipment and facility, delivering product by car, and delivering flyers and door hangers. Requires a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, access to an insured vehicle for delivery, and the ability to pass a background check. Training orientation and training are provided on the job. Communication skills are essential, including the ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, communicate verbally with customers and co-workers, and train and lead. Essential functions/skills include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately, make correct monetary change, enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen, maintain cost controls, and navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites. Work conditions include exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions, in-store temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas, fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust, cramped quarters including walk-in cooler, hot surfaces/tools from over up to 500 degrees or higher, sharp edges and moving mechanical parts, talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks, depth perception, ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces, the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work along and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions. Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, driving, pushing, climbing, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, reaching, and hand tasks are also required.
