Please let me know if you or any of your friends would be interested in this position.Position Details:Sr. Data Engineer and Architect Hybrid- Melville, NYLocation : Melville, NY 11101 (Hybrid)Project Duration : 2 months (Contract to Hire) Salary : $60/hr. on W2Description:Experience work closely with client enterprise architect.Act as a mentor to technical offshore data analytics team.Data Architecture experience:• Experience architecting solutions in Cloud Data Engineering platform (eg: GCP, AWS, Azure)• Design end to end data architectures on GCP leveraging Big Query, Data flow, Data proc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, and Looker.• Develop modern data lake, data warehouse, and lake house architectures using best practices and well architected frameworks in GCP and prefer to have experience in AWS, Azure & Data bricks• Create logical and physical data models, data flow diagrams, integration patterns, and reference architectures.• Architect scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Data flow (Apache Beam), Data proc (Spark), and/or Cloud Composer orchestrations.• Lead cloud-native modernization initiatives: migration from legacy platforms to GCP.Data Engineering & Development Oversight• Provide expert guidance to data engineering teams on standards, patterns, and reusable frameworks.• Optimize Big Query performance including partitioning, clustering, materialized views, BI Engine, and storage optimizations.• Implement data quality, metadata management, observability, and lineage frameworks using tools like Data plex and Data Catalog.• Ensure CI/CD adoption using Cloud Build, GitHub/Git Lab pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).Data Governance & Security• Help define data governance standards including access models, encryption, retention, and data lifecycle management.• Implement IAM policies, VPC Service Controls, organizational policy constraints, and secure data sharing patterns.• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, PCI, and internal corporate policies.Additional Responsibilities:Process FlowsMentor and Knowledge transfer to client project team membersParticipate as primary, co and/or contributing author on any and all project deliverables associated with their assigned areas of responsibilityParticipate in data conversion and data maintenanceProvide best practice and industry specific solutionsAdvise on and provide alternative (out of the box) solutionsProvide thought leadership as well as hands on technical configuration/development as needed.Participate as a team member of the functional teamPerform other duties as assigned.To discuss this amazing opportunity, reach out to our Talent Acquisition Specialist Sampada Rokdeat email address
