The Model Risk team are recruiting for a Senior AI Validator. This role is responsible for the independent validation and governance of both traditional models and AI systems, including machine learning, general purpose AI, and third-party AI solutions. The role involves reviewing and guiding 1LoD risk assessments, performing validation activities, and ensuring alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements and best practices. This role requires strong analytical capability combined with an understanding of AI system behaviour, limitations, and risk implications in real-world use cases. Candidates with appropriate experience will be considered for the Senior AI Validator role. Responsibilities: Manage and bring to completion all assigned reviews (?validations?) of models, ensuring these are completed accurately and efficiently, in line with standards and guidelines. Play an active role in the ongoing development and enhancement of validation methodologies so as to ensure that those used are appropriate and refined in response to environmental changes, and that the internal standards/guidelines are updated as required. Support your manager and other team members in developing through completing peer reviews that seek to stretch and challenge. Seek others to do the same for you. Be committed to delivering high quality results for yourself and for the team. Agree clear goals and work to meet and exceed all expectations. Display high levels of enthusiasm and energy in delivering on the tasks you have been set. Exchange written and oral information and ideas in a clear, concise manner appropriate to the audience. Always act to positively influence others in order to gain commitment. Provide support, structure, guidance and training to less experienced members of staff. Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks and encourage others to work across Requirements: Essential A high level of quantitative ability up to at least undergraduate degree level in a highly numerically oriented subject such as physics, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, quantitative finance, engineering or general science. Experience in developing and/or validating machine learning models. Ability to critically assess models beyond outputs (i.e. assumptions, limitations and risks). Desired Familiarity with AI governance and regulatory frameworks (e.g. EU AI Act) and responsible AI practices. Experience working with or assessing third-party AI solutions. Understanding of General Purpose AI and their limitations (e.g. hallucination, data leakage).
